Quality systems comparison (GIA and Kristall)
There are several systems that define quality of the cut. The most common is worked out by Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The quality of the cut includes symmetry, polish and proportions.
Kristall has its own quality standard, which is even stricter than GIA standard. That is why all diamonds manufactured at Kristall are always graded as “excellent” and “very good” according to GIA parameters.

    Multistep system of quality control
A polished diamond passes from the cutter to the grader of artistic goods who grades the quality of cut by symmetry proportions and polishing of diamond. A stone which does not meet the standards goes back for reworking.
In case of all standards compliance a polished diamond passes to the grading section where key elements such as size, colour, clarity and cut quality are graded. When some defects are discovered, a polished diamond is given back to manufacture over and the stone is evaluated again at all stages of grading.
The next step is a commercial sorting group who evaluate one more all parameters of polished diamond and have all rights to return stones to the cutter.
During forming of parcels with goods experts of sales department are checking again every polished diamond before shipping. All these measures allow clients to be confident of purchased goods quality. As result more than 80% of Kristall Production Corporation’s clients purchase goods of the company without preliminary examination.

    Equipment
In diamond polishing and quality control Kristall uses modern equipment. All the diamond’s elements of symmetry must be perfect, each facet is repeatedly controlled during manufacturing by means of special video-equipment. Symmetry, proportions and polishing quality at the final stage of manufacturing are checked under 30-40x magnification.
