Director General of Kristall Production Corporation is elected as the President of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA). For the first time in history the Russian representative has taken up such an important position in the global diamond industry.
From October 14 till October 17, 2012 the 35th World Diamond Congress was held in Mumbai, where the IDMA members discussed possible ways of resolving challenges facing the diamond industry as well as basic lines of its development. Key members of the diamond industry representing the WFDB and IDMA and Heads of Ministries dealing with the diamond industry all over the world participated in the Congress. Within the framework of the Congress there have been appointed a new president and top managers of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses. Mr. Maxim Shkadov, Director General of Kristall Production Corporation, has been elected as new IDMA president. For the first time in history the Russian representative has taken up such an important position in the global diamond industry. REFERENCE Maxim Alexandrovich Shkadov is Director General of Kristall Production Corporation, Chairman of the Board of Association of Diamond Manufacturers of Russia. Since 2006 he has been elected as IDMA vice-president. International Diamond Manufacturers Association was founded in 1946 in Antwerp to consolidate the most important centers of diamond production. The Association is committed to promoting highest ideals of honesty and best practice principles throughout the global diamond industry. Once per two years IDMA and WFDB hold the World Diamond Congress to discuss contemporary issues of the industry. The Association has played an active role in establishing the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme and is a co-founder of the World Diamond Council.
